"The call to action — or rather inaction — is asking that American consumers refrain from making any purchases at major retailers on Friday, February 28. The protest comes as people continue to endure rising prices on everything from food and gas to housing and utilities, epitomized by the soaring cost of eggs which in January averaged $4.95 a dozen. ... Some postings for the event created by online supporters have suggested a targeted boycott of retailers like Ford, McDonald's, Meta, Target and Walmart that have ended their DEI* ... official messaging from The People's Union suggests a boycott of all major retailers, with the goal of enacting broader economic change."

Hurting the economy by not spending isn’t going to help rising prices of things. Silly Sally. Price increases come bc of shortages and inflation. And some simply by Supply and Demand. What does this actually do? Want egg prices to drop? So does everyone. The primary cause of the recent rise in egg prices is a widespread outbreak of avian influenza (bird flu), which has resulted in large numbers of egg-laying hens being culled on affected farms, significantly reducing the egg supply and driving prices up considerably - So how about find a cure for the bird flu or donate to a cause that can help research such things. That’s something that would actually help- not a joke …
